Getting back to normal

It has been a long time since I have been able to blog. Hubby had heart surgery on July 17, and it has been hectic ever snce. He is doing great now.! Things are settling down, so I can do a little genealogy.

I ordered 6 South Carolina film from the local FHC. Trying to find out about my James Knight b. 1757 in Virginia. I found an obit in an old online newspaper collection showing that he died on January 18, 1858. He was 101 years old. The oldest man in Orangeburg, SC. What a stroke of luck I had in locating that old obit.!! Hope the films help me! Tomorrow, I will visit the FHC again tomorrow and see what else I can find on James.

I am still having a hard time finding a marriage record on my Stephen Lisenby/be who lived around Marlboro, South Carolina from 1800-1826. Maybe I will find something on my trip to South Carolina Archives in November.

This morning, I was searching online at the University of Virginia Library, and found a lot of digitized records recording my Captain John Knight. Revolutionary land warrants, etc. What a great web site!!! Got to run now. See you at the AKGS meeting this Sunday.
All you genealogist have a great day. Bye.................
