Starting Over
I haven't blogged in a while, and thought I would start up again. I feel very rusty! I haven't been out doing genealogy in a long time. Research trips have been few and far between. I 'm looking to take research trips on a "shoestring budget." Don't want to bust my budget. I've got a few brick-walls that only some out-of-town research will solve.
I am lazy, because, when I get somewhere to research-I hate taking buses....rather take a cab..but that eats up the budget. Wanting to go to Washington DC when warmer weather comes, so I am doing some advance research via the computer and library. What would we do without Google? I am going to get in touch with a genealogical society in Washington DC on advice about places to stay, eat, and park. Any ideas?
Dirt cheap airline tickets are a thing of the past. However, I think starting early does give you a chance to explore Web-only fares, vacation packages and other good deals. I was told to book on a Tuesday or Wednesday, when fares tend to be cheaper.
Also, how does a gal get all her clothes into a carry-on bag, and all the genealogical junk too..........?
Hey!!!!! maybe I should just get a paid researcher-but then, it would not be as much fun!!!!!!
